Written with the help of Lou Krieger, who wrote for years for Card Player Magazine, this dummies book is a good choice if you’re starting up a home game, as it has a lot of poker variations, a section on “fun,” and of course the poker basics written in easy-to-understand ways.

4. The Mobile Poker Player’s Bible
Lou Krieger also penned this book, which promises to “Raise Your Game from Beginner to Winner” with its subtitle. It focuses on cell phone rules and strategy for Texas Hold’em, Omaha, and Seven-Card Stud, and is filled with nice color illustrations and is a good book that you can use both as a reference and as a course to follow in improving your poker skills.
